Move-out Information

Dear Tenants:

First, I wanted to thank you for your stay in Arbor Groups Apartments.

Second, in preparation for your lease end, I would like to mention a few things for a smooth transition,

1- Please provide a forwarding address where you would like the security deposit (SD) to be sent.

2- Please clearly indicate who should receive the SD and the portion each person should receive the SD. In case one person gives up his/her share of security deposit, I need a written consent from that person with clear instruction as what to do with his/her share of the SD.

3-For accounting purposes, last rent payment cannot be used for SD return. A check must be paid for last month's rent and you will get a check for SD return.

4- Please note that according to your lease you are required to maintain DTE electricity service for your apartment for the duration of your lease. That means you need to schedule DTE service to be disconnected at your lease end date and not your move out date if it is before lease end date.

5- Please make sure you turn in all the keys (including mail box keys) you have, to avoid charges for lock being changed. This is the most common issue upon move out and It involves $150 charge for the entrance door lock, $150 charge for laundry lock, and $80 charge for mail box lock if the keys are not retuned. For security reasons, I am required to change the locks if the keys are not returned.

6- Please make sure all your personal belongings are removed from the apartment by noon of the lease end date. Any personal item left in the apartment will be removed at a cost. Any big item left by the dumpster will be removed at a cost as well (mattress, desk, chair, etc.).

7- The apartment needs to be returned in the same broom-clean condition that you received it. Please pay special attention to refrigerator and stove and make sure it is free of any food, grease, and oil resulting from your cooking.

The last two items above ensures avoiding any cleaning charges. Following these items ensures you will receive your full security deposit back and no charges are made against your account.
